Johnny Cash x Restorative Justice
2021 | 4 Weeks
Challenge:
The goal was to design a powerful poster advocating for restorative justice by visually interpreting and incorporating the full lyrics of Johnny Cash’s “Why I Wear Black.” The challenge was to honor the emotional weight of the song while using design as a medium for activism and awareness.
Role:
I conceptualized and created the poster — carefully balancing typography, composition, and tone to reflect both the issue of restorative justice and Cash’s lyrics. I treated the lyrics as both visual and narrative elements, letting them guide the form and message of the design.
Impact:
The poster served as a compelling visual statement, sparking meaningful conversation about justice, inequality, and reform.
